 Hey Fam!

So this week was way different but I like seeing all the stuff about different culture!  Oh by the way Happy Easter!  So this week was Holy week (I didn't know there was one but ok...)  On holy Monday we did some holy cleaning then we did some holy writing to our families after that we ate holy Chaufa (my fave) then we met some elders and went to holy Barranco (that is a little ironic because they call it "sin city of Peru" haha)  It was so cool.  They had a market that all the people from the famous parts of Peru (Iquitos, Cusco, Ayacucho...) came and sold their stuff.  Normally it would be way expensive and some was but other shops knew that the Elders are like locals so they would give us real prices!  ( others tried charging in dollars we didn't shop there.)  We found good treasures.  So after holy shopping we ate holy gelato then went home.  On holy Tuesday we had interviews all freaking day!  We got there at 8:30 and didn't leave till 3:30.  So by the time we ate and got ready it was like 6!  As we say here "ya fue!"  On holy Wednesday we had a holy district meeting and at holy cake cause my comps b-day is this month.  Then we had a holy intercambio with the zone leaders. It was fun!  Elder Brown is a huge nerd he just talked about school and instruments (not my favorite subjects)  It was funny though, he was walking and swinging his glass drink bottle and the lid came off and he launched it!  It shattered everywhere.  We didn't know what to do so we just kept walking and pretended nothing happened.

Then on holy Thursday we tried to do service but evreyone said it was disrespectful to Jesus (have they read the bible?) Anyways we had the elders come and clean our house!  After we had an intercambio with elders in my district.  We got so sick of people not wanting to talk that we all met up and we'd just go up to anyone and just keep talking till they listened or got mad.  It actually worked.  They even got on a bus and stood at the front and preached till the next stop haha!  Then in a holy lesson Elder Halliday thought my chair was for him so when I sat down I had no chair!  I fell right on my butt in the dirt it was awful!  I was so dirty and everyone was laughing so hard we couldn't have a lesson.  On holy Friday/ Good Friday we got a companion from Ayacucho who had to come get a rabies shot also we learned no one is home on holy Friday.  We walked forever and accidentally joined a concession (the Catholics carry a cross around and sing)  it was freaky!  After that experience we called it a day and went home and made pancakes yumm.  On holy Saturday nothing happened.  Our land lady did get us ice cream though that was awesome.  Now it is Easter.  They don't really celebrate though so yeah.  We wanted to hunt for eggs but we'd only find real eggs haha.  I hope your Easter weekend was great and the bunny left great stuff!  Thanks for the packages and letters they are great!  Love you all be safe and happy!  Mwah!

Peru thing: So here people don't pan handle in the street.  They wait for buses then they get on and sell candy or key chains or sing or tell jokes and the people give them money.  They always start with their pity story then tie it in like "I got hit by a car and lost my house and car my life isn't full of joy but yours can be if you buy_____"  It is super different but it is better than begging with signs.

 Fam!

So this week was good we worked hard but it was still kinda fun!  So on Monday we were supposed to play volleyball as a district but apparently plans got confused cause we waited forever and just one other companionship showed up.  So we went and played anyways.  Well turns out everyone else went to another place to play!  But it is good we figured it out.

Tuesday we got up ready to go to meetings and then like 10 minutes before they called saying no so it ruined all our morning plans.  At night we taught then we ate out cause my comp finished 6 months.  On Wednesday we had a conference in the morning.  That was long but good.  I got a letter from Arturo and Michelle they are doing good.  They got after me for not writing much whoops.  That night we taught our English class and a member that went MIA for months showed up.  It was great.  We made them all sing head shoulders knees and toes.  It was funny but yeah... I hope we keep getting big classes.

On Thursday we got up and went to do service for this guy who is like a young Miaugi.  His house was gross.  He had ducks all over.  Ew!  Then when we were cleaning we found a huge box of porn.  We burnt it while he wasn't looking.  It was for his own good so we don't feel too bad.  After we had an intercambio so we stuck around to eat with them.  It was gross but Elder Jones liked it so we gave it to him.  After me and Elder Patino went out to teach it was fun.

For dinners lately we've started doing pancakes cause people don't eat them here.  The next morning we got a surprise room inspection after the elders were here.  So it was a mess.  They were mad at that and then I had lots of pictures up.  I told them I wasn't taking them down so they failed us.  Nothing happens so it is dumb.  On Saturday and Sunday we just did ward stuff and went to a little kids birthday.  We got him a balloon and movies.  Love y'all.  Mwah!

Peru thing:  So the tallest building here they think it is massive!  So this immense buildng I hear so much about has 33 floors.  That's it.  Haha.  They are so prideful it is funny!
We used to wash our own laundry now we have a lady who does it and irons and fold it for us!

This is the cool stuff we bought this week

April 3, 2017

Fam,

Hey guys!  So this week was really fast!  I really don't remember too much but I'll try!  haha.  So on Monday after writing we went and ate then I got my haircut.  I told her to just cut a little.  She started with a little then I guess she decided to just keep going. So once again I am almost bald... I love Peru (mucho sarcasm) haha.  The days here are starting to be colder, still hot but it is bearable now.  So that is a great thing!  I think it was Tuesday we had a district meeting in the morning then just normal stuff on Wednesday.  It is bad though we get along to well we start talking and laughing and we forget to check the time.  we've gone to bed at like 1 haha whoops!  Oh well.

Ok so Thursday was a sad day.  We got up and we did service helping a lady move.  That was long.  She moved to a third story apartment wow!  Lots of stairs.  I tried to help unload the truck but the others wouldn't go for that so I had to take the heavy stuff.  Karma is so lame.  After we got home late and were changing when the phone rang.  It was president saying we needed to chat.  Oh boy.  It turns out that it was my comp.  His uncle died so that was super sad.  So we went and got ice cream and hamburgers.  I think he is good now but still sad.  Friday was normal but I went to a sketchy clinic to buy some stuff for my buddy Miaugi.  He thinks he is dying cause he got a cold.  While I was there a crazy dude cornered my comp asking why he was stressed and saying he had a real nice black friend for him haha.  He looked at me to help but I was kinda laughing.  After that we went to eat dinner and a member gave me a pizza for free woohoo!  Saturday and Sunday were conference.  I am a child.  I can't watch it.  It is sooo boring!  I loaded my bag with toys and candy so I could stay awake.  Anyways today we are going to play volley ball.  Love you all!!!

Peru thing:  So here ibuprofen is illegal but I bought all sorts of pain killers and cold meds without question.  Also when you are sick you just go up to a little window and tell them what you've got and they give you some crazy drug cocktail without explanation then they get so mad when I questioned them!!! Crazy!

March 27, 2017

Hey Fam,

So this week was kinda stressful all week we had Elders from Ayacucho with us.  Anyways Tuesday after I wrote we went and ate at a burrito bar.  It's like Cafe Rio yum!  Then on Wednesday the Elders came there were 4 of them all here!  WOW!  It was so loud and messy.  Then we all taught together!  They tried to  leave on Thursday but they missed the flight!  WE weren't planning on them so we went to eat at Texas Roadhouse.  It was good that we had money for the month cause a steak was 60 (somethings I think it means Peru money) which is like 20 bucks!  But it was HUGE and way good so we decided it was worth it.  Haha!  I've been so sick lately we keep eating ligado and cau-cau (liver and cow stomach/intestines) so my stomach is gone! bleh... All but 1 of the elders left Friday morning the other left in the afternoon.  Then we got a night to clean up and plan.

On Saturday we worked on the school more it has a roof now and a gate and is usable.  Now it just needs painted and cleaned and the playground needs fixed.  I'll send a picture when we finish!  My new comp is awesome. We get a lot done and get along way good. He has a girlfriend to so we talk a lot about that!  Time passes faster with a cool comp.  Really this week has just been running around like crazy people.  Oh so we finally got a bit of water back.  It is still way dirty so we just use it to shower but it is better than nothing.  We were so dirty that we had to scrub the showers after it was so good to be clean though!

So we wanted to see how dirty the water is so we filled a pot and left it.  IT GREW BUGS!!! Nasty!  My Spanish is getting better though cause I have to talk to everyone!  But it is good.  I'll learn how to communicate better.  Oh yeah and mom don't worry I ate cake in memory of you (sounds like I died or something when he went to Peru) hope you had a happy birthday.  How old are you now? hehe love you!  So my Peru thing:  At school here you get judged and put in a level they are A-G and in each 1-5.  So the smartest are 1A and the dumbest 5G and the math classes are super easy!  They do like 6th grade stuff in high school!!  We end up helping with a lot of homework haha!  (I hope he isn't helping them with spelling or grammar because his is horrible) You can't ever get away from school!!!  Be safe guys love y'all!!  Mwah!

Hey Fam!

So this letter is painful to write... I got a bug bite on my pinky finger that kills!  Haha!  and tons happened this week so I'll just suffer through it.  So our Monday miracle...

So this is Daniel.  He is the one on my side of the table.  He is an angel I'm pretty sure... We went to Barranco, Peru and we were early so we were hanging out waiting for our zone, Elder Haliday and Pena were there too.  When a guy (on the right) came up and started talking to us.  He served a mission in Venezuela and works for the U.S. airforce now.  We chatted then he said he'd go get his team to meet us.  We talked to them and that is when Daniel who is an RM from Colombia invited us to lunch in this crazy fancy restaurant to eat and chat with the team!  In my mind it was like eating with Top Gun!!!  Later some of our zone came in by chance to eat there and came and chatted until they got a table.  After we ate the best peruvian food ever he took our bill and then our whole zones bill and paid for us all.  It was like 16 people!!!  Holy crap!  So yeah he was amazing!

On Tuesday I cried a lot cause I'm a freaking baby!  It was the last meeting with Elder Sosa cause he goes home tomorrow.  We made a video and sang.  It was sad!  I also gave him my SL Bee's tie to remember me.

Wednesday started the crazy.  So Peru if you didn't know is flooding.  So in the floods it washed out the graveyard so the water is toxic.  So it has been 6 days now without any water.  We stink a little...

Thursday we did service and we started building a school.  Then on Friday still without water the government gifted water to people.  We helped them for 3 hours that day and 2 hours more on Saturday and 2 more on Monday!  I can't feel my arms from carrying water all day!  Saturday was transfers.  Ready drum roll please....
This is Elder Gutierrez.  He is from California USA!  Woohoo!!  A gringo!  Haha!  It has been great!  He looks like Linguini from Ratatouii.  But yeah... so Sunday we had stake conference and President stood up and in front of everyone congratulated us for our service in the ward.  We got super embarrassed.  Then today I got my first gringo day.  The neighbors were teasing us in spanish then we switched to spanish and they went super red.  We just laughed and kept on carrying water cause that's the life now just carrying water all day.  haha.  We got to talk a lot but it is fun.  We were both in Pachacamac together just in different parts so that is fun!  Now we get to be companions and Elder Infante is far far away!  So yeah anyways I love and miss you all tons.  Have a great week!  Mwah!

Peru thing: So the plant that they make cocaine out of- they chew the leaves here as remedies for everything.  It is super bad but ya bienvenides a Peru!

Hello my Family!

What's up?  Honestly this week went by so fast I don't even remember much of it but on Monday we ate Chinese and then we played volleyball with the other elders.  It was gringos versus latinos and we totally won!  After that we went and bought food.  When we got back to the house we decided to make s'mores on the roof.  But here the chocolate sucks.  It is gross and real graham crackers don't exist.  To make it worse good marshmallows cost lots so it was expensive!  But yeah we had a good time. It was like when I was little at the cabin!  On Tuesday we had our meetings since I had the marshmallows I decided we'd make good use of them so we played chubby bunny!  Haha I forgot my camera so I don't have pics but it was hilarious!  Then we decided to all eat together so we made spaghetti and meatballs with papas huancyina yum!  Then we played a bunch of games.  On Wed. we had interviews with President McGinn he kinda got mad cause I said that his plan wouldn't work and that it was too confusing.  I was right but he is in charge so we do it anyways.  We also had interchanges with Elders Jones and Venegas it was fun!  I went with Elder Jones so I got to speak English. On Thursday I found the most disgusting house I've ever seen.  We did service their by fixing their water then we taught them.  I need sanitized!  Saturday in the morning there was a soccer championship so we went and watched that then we had a giant family home evening.  It was super fun.  We watched a video then played games with everyone but then we got to the house and realized we didn't buy food and we don't have electricity... great.  Some things suck about Peru.  Oh well I am sure it will help me one day.  Today still no electricity but we were studying and the drunk Pablo forgot his alcohol on our porch so we stole it and dumped it out now he is searching all over while us and his family are laughing.  I guess it is the little things.  Haha so my Peru thing: here they don't speak castigano and they get mad when they confuse them.  So Sunday we had an awesome lesson the guy agreed to start teaching us Quetchwa!  I have a good list now woohoo!!  Ok love ya'll mwah!

Hey Fam!

So this week was normal just one more down and lots to go!  So on Monday after writing we went to the beach!  It was so pretty and perfect and the waves were huge!  Bigger than I've ever seen!  We played football and kickball and then played in the sand.  Then on Tuesday we had a meeting with an area 70 after that we got all switched around cause the elders from the south were here till Friday.  It was a good break from my comp and one of them knew me from Lehi that was super fun we talked and he told me what everyone was up to.  Then we had district meeting and then more new comps from Ica and Ayacucho.  Oh so I don't think I told ya'll but my comp was so mad cause this girl who we baptized well he thought she'd ask him to baptize her and I did to- but when we asked her to be baptized she said she wanted me to do it.  I thought he was gonna hit me cause that is 5 people that didn't pick him.  So yeah he is a child so he refused to talk to me and pretty much threw a fit.  So today she got baptized that was awesome.

So this week we've been obsessed with these little bikes if you remember we learned to make them like a month ago but we finally go stuff to make our own so all our time that we aren't teaching is used making these bikes.  We also went to learn more this afternoon before our baptism.  So now the plate of fish... So my comp is a child and often acts like it.  So apparently he was talking and making fun of our pension.  Everyone here gossips so the stuff he said got told to her.  She was so mad at him and she needs to be cause he oughtta learn one day to grow up!  So she said she needed the weekend off and so I had to cook.  I tried to remember all I learned from the cooking shows unfortunately cupcake wars didn't come in handy... I came up with lemon garlic fish and soggy rice and "salad" which here is onions with lime and salt and my favorite part since I'm poor guess how much it cost?  4.80's that is like a buck fifty!  But my comp keeps being him today.  He hung up on the leaders and Elder Sosa I think might kill him...  So that's my week.  Love ya'll mwah!

Peru thing: They use so much slang here I hate it for example they don't say verde they say verdura which is veggie.  And to say yes it is good they say "sinquente" which means 50.

Look I am a real Peruvian now,

Hey Fam,

Woohoo Monday again!  We have a zone p-day I think we are playing football in the park!  So this week was a bit crazy but yeah my comp is a butt still.  So Monday we met up with Elders Pena and Haliday and we played volleyball in the court in front of our house.  Then on Tuesday we had a meeting mine started at 8am and didn't finish till around 6pm.  It was sooo long.  After we went to interviews for our baptisms it was supposed to be 3 people but 1 backed out and it wasn't who I expected.  The girl is from Ayacucho we first taught her last Sunday and she was baptized Saturday!  She's read the Book of Mormon 2 times and had some experience with it that she won't talk about but she is sure it is true.  Crazy right!!  The other can quote the bible as well as a priest but like his whole fam is inactive so that's a bit scary.  After that we went to ward council our ward needs help.  The bishop is never at anything even church and only 3 of the leaders do anything.  The only reason we are a ward is cause the secretary lives in Cusco so the bishop just claims there is about 100 people (more like 60) so we stay a ward it is dumb.  Wednesday we had district meeting I asked Elders to teach I think for the last time!  Then till Saturday not too much happened we did have an Intercambio but nothing to crazy happened I also forgot for service we cleaned the house of Miagi.  It was gross we found 4 mice 1 dead one and one cat and a million cockroaches but now it is super clean but he complains cause he can't find stuff!  Also we are now out of all money till Wednesday.  So we make fried eggs and ramen surprise for every meal.  So Saturday was baptisms so we were in the church all day cleaning.  In the morning the primary celebrated carnival and soaked us with water but then gave us ice cream so I was fine.  Then we had the baptism and after a family took us to hamburgers!  Today is ward conference I was excited till I remembered I have to attend lame!  Be safe guys love ya!

Peru thing:  So like Brazil there is carnival here but it gets so crazy they outlawed it in Lima every where else the missionaries can't leave on some days or they get paint and water thrown at them!

Week of many companions

Hey Fam!

So this was the week of many companions and some of mine managed to still tick me off more than ever.  We'll start on monday after I wrote.  We went to our zone p-day.  Here they celebrate carnival but in Lima there is a law you can't play in the streets.  So we played at the church.  We got tons of water balloons and had a giant water fight!  After that we went to the store and I've gotten so sick of buying new razors and shaving like twice a day so I bought a straight edge razor.  It is so much better and easier and not super hard like I thought.  Only 1 cut in 3 times shaving I'm so proud :)  Then we just taught people so it was normal.

On Tuesday we had a meeting and then an interchange.  I went with Elder Haliday.  We walked for ever and then we got attacked by dogs and they tore my pant leg!  Then we taught Miaugi and I got burnt by hot glue.  It was so bad it was bleeding!  Ouch!!  Then my a**hole companion filled my bed and pillow with shaving cream.

Wednesday I had another interchange with Elder Marin and I don't know what my companion did but he is got an interview with the president.  So we had to sleep on the floor at the zone leaders apartment but Elder Sosa and Marin rock so it wasn't too bad.  Thursday a guy came to rewire our house so we helped most of the day.  I learned to do lots!

Then Friday we changed again with Elder Venegas.  He has cerebral palsy and is kinda different but works hard so it's good.  We taught and found new people.  Then that night my companion thought putting a board in front of the door of the bathroom while I was in it would be funny so long story short after 20 minutes I realized he went to bed so I just broke the door knob.  He has made me so mad the last 2 days so I haven't woke him up in the morning I just sit and enjoy the silence.

Saturday we had an activity with the MTC gringos.  My companion that day apparently went to school with me but I have no clue who he is so I just acted like I knew haha.

Today (Sunday) we got a call at 9:45am to go 30 minutes away to have a baptism interview at 10.  After that we ran around all day.  Wow! I am tired!

Ok so my Peru thing:  Novia means fiance and enamerada is girlfriend.  Normally in Spanish novia means girlfriend and enamorada is a crush so I've accidentally been referring to Madi as my fiance for the past 6 months haha!

Oh well.  I love you all.  Be safe and have a great week!  Mwah!

these are to show you im learning some helpful stuff haha

February 13, 2017

So last Saturday my grandpa and Tyler's great Grandpa passed away.  Tyler was close to his great grandpa he had gone to farmer's market with him for years and love the time they spent together.  I contacted his mission president Saturday night and he drove the next morning to go find Tyler to talk to him about it in person.  He also let Tyler call me on Monday morning.  He is sad but doing alright.

Hey Fam,

So once again another curve ball... The emergency call/visit from President was a very unexpected thing.  My companion was freaking out because he is disobedient so a call to leave lessons and go find president scared the crap out of him. You can imagine my surprise when he wanted to talk with me...  I spent the rest of the day pretty quiet.  I didn't know grandpa wasn't doing well or anything but it makes me cry to think about so I'll tell you my week instead.

Monday we went to this tourist beach it was kinda uncomfortable to see so many white people and hear English!  But it was pretty I wouldn't mind living there and apparently it is cheap because people don't want tourists as neighbors but yeah it is a really cool place and it made me laugh when all the gringos were at starbucks and the fat people Dunkin Donuts (we went for the doughnuts too) the rest of the week wasn't really to exciting we had transfers we got a new Hermana in my district and an Elder in the other.  The Hermana is from Argentina and she has a super heavy accent.  I can't understand her or tease her like I do my buddy (I can't spell his name so he is just my buddy).  So yeah.  The Elder... I have a story.  So we had a baptism from Hell.  That is a contradiction but it was bad.  The font broke and then there was no water.  Peru is flooding and we still run out of water.  But anyways we had no baptism clothes because the people are a little gordito.  But then I remembered.  So is our new elder!  So I called him and tried to nicely explain why I needed to borrow his clothes.  It must have worked cause he let me go get them. We ended up filling taxis to drive to the next city over!  But now she is baptized so all is well.

On Saturday we had an open house for our chapel.  We wore our baptism clothes and talked about the font it was long but good.  Today I was distracted and have no idea what happened but yeah so my Peru thing:  All over there are huge piles of dirt that are guarded all the time.  Turns out they are unexcavated ruins and catacombs.  The people don't have the money to have them excavated so they are just sand dunes.  The catacombs you can go in and I can't wait till next week cause I want to go! SPOOKY!!!

Have a good week and I'll be thinking of y'all lots.  Bye be safe.  Mwah!

Hey Fam!

So this week was full of...well I guess adventure.  First remember our problems last week? (floods, sick) yeah so God has a sense of humor.  We were joking that things could only go better this week and apparently "knocking on cement" doesn't have the same effect as wood.  So now what's worse than floods?  I guess it's getting robbed cause that was one of our fun adventures this week! but I'll start at the first of the week.

Monday I went shopping for stuff to send y'all then on Tuesday they announced all our changes.  The good changes: we wake up at 7, no more crazy planning, a longer p-day, going to bed earlier.  The bad no teaching, less activities, no going to the temple with converts, more time in the street.  Actually that was Wednesday nothing happened on Tuesday.  After that meeting I got a phone call from President saying I needed to go pick up our new companion.  That was a surprise!  His name is Elder Harpa but J makes an H sound so Harpa.  He is another disobedient missionary that like my companion I have to babysit.  So yeah I have a trio for a bit and really my companion is more disobedient than he is so it is good.  I was scared though I had to leave them alone to go to the DMV and what a shock... they went to the beach instead of studies and planning!

I wasn't super surprised.  So now anything they do bad I have to call President but yeah so then the fun story.  On Friday we got up and ready and got everything done and went to eat.  We left about 12 and came back around 3 and our door was broken down.  So we very carefully went into our house and we were happy to find the robbers left but then sad that they left with all our watches money flash drives... etc.  So the good part is we are fine and our door is being fixed so that is good.  Bad news all my money and watches got stolen.  lame right!?!  So we stayed in our zone leaders room and haven't been able to leave our house so we are bored and poor.  Haha.

That was my craziness.  If more happens tomorrow I will let you know.  love you all mwah!

Peru thing:  So there is a drink here in English it is apple water but they drink it all the time to "make them smart"  I honestly don't know what is in it to make you smart but it is funny they blame the dumb stuff they do on it cause they didn't drink enough!  haha!  Peruvians are crazy.

January 30

Hey Guys!

So I think I'm tired and drowning... So Monday i wrote and then p-day was Friday so we taught lessons.  Tuesday I had a district meeting and it was kinda lame this week but still good.  I forgot half my lesson and had to wing it but it went well.  So now starts the crazy keep in mind it is summer with 100% humidity and this is a dessert and we're in suits.  Ok so Wednesday we had training in Surco so we woke up at 4:30 and went to that and it is awesome we get longer p-days and more time in the mornings and less studies.  Also we have less paperwork so all around good changes.  So after that we went back and ate and changed then taught.  Then my life got crazy... so we got up at 4am and went down town to see Elder Cook speak and downtown Lima is like NYC.  It is awesome.  Elder Cook's talk was the same as in the MTC but we shook hands so that was way cool.  So still a million degrees and a 2 hour bus ride home we show up and 2 floors of our house is flooded and it went through the brick with all the electricity so scary!!!  We spent the day cleaning it up and then remembered we are going to the temple and needed water!  So a guy came at like 10 to give it a temporary fix so around 1 and still very wet we went to bed.  Again at 4am we got up and got a call saying that other people had no water or rides so it was crazy and a very full and smelly taxi ride to the temple.

The temple is so simple and pretty and it wasn't hard in spanish and after I got cool stuff so that was great.  After was p-day so we ate burritos as a zone (they say tacos and burritos are american food) and then we got lost as a zone and ended up sunburned and in a different mission.  That was "fun".  Haha!  We did get back in time to sleep for an hour so that was great.

Ok so I forgot on Wednesday morning we showered and realized we had no shirts or garments so at 4:30am we went soaking wet to our apartment to break in and find our clean clothes.  Ok so now Saturday.

So this morning our neighbors woke us up yelling "cops! cops!"  Apparently they run a chop shop and steal cars so yeah that was awesome.  Have I mentioned I live in a little bit dangerous of a city haha.  So tomorrow I'll write if good stuff happens but now so my sad stuff... Arturo has a tumor and isn't doing so well so I'm kinda depressed about that.

Anyways, my Peru thing: So like I said burritos, tacos, quesadillas...etc., don't exist here and they way it is american food cause only gringos eat at the burrito bar in Barranca.  So we introduced them to American food.

So another crappy thing.  So my district is like my kids I just have to keep them all safe and in a little row (Kalene would say that :)) but one hermana got really sick at the temple and came to ask me for help.  It was kinda fun being a medic again for a minute I truly love that work!  Ah I miss it!

I love you all tons! mwah

One Sunday highlight.. I forgot to tell you my new favorite food is pineapple juice.  It is the best!  On Sunday I got to have juice for dinner haha!!  Luvs ya mwah!

January 23

Hey Fam!
So this week my head had a hard time haha!  So on Monday I needed a few things so we went to a market in Tupae ( the next city over).  WE shopped a little and then I needed a haircut so I found a barbershop that looked nice and the guy cut my hair horribly!  It was like he'd get bored or distracted and just trail off it was a nightmare!  I had to go get another haircut to fix it and now I'm just about bald so there will be no pictures taken of me for like 2 weeks.  This week seriously wasn't my week.  I keep getting bit or almost bit by millions of bugs spiders scorpions and of course dogs. We don't know how they all get into our house but they do so it is super fun!  Also this week our house has flooded like 3 times cause our water tank is broken. Our land lady won't do anything about it so we just live in the front of the house.

So Tuesday I got your package!  It was so good to hear from everyone and I'm so glad everyone is doing so great!  Thank you all for the support and I love all of the letters!

So on Thursday we had "service" here service is like visiting old people instead of building houses.  So we went and saw this old sick guy.  He taught us how to make all this cool stuff with pieces of metal it is super cool!  So on Thursday I woke up with a super bad headache then by friday it turned into a migraine I was so sick!  That was miserable!  So yesterday (Saturday) I had 2 baptism interviews then the leaders stopped by for a visit.  I hate that and our "wonderful" neighbors started a party at 1 in the afternoon it is now 7am on Sunday and it is still going!!  We didn't sleep at all!!  People here are insane they do this every Saturday!  It is super funny to watch all the crazy drunks dancing and singing.  Oh so I don't remember if I told ya'll about this food but here we eat fried fish eggs all the time they are super good but a little strange.

So this week is crazy we have like 3 days in the office cause an apostle is coming.  The we go to the temple and I have to do room checks!  Wow lots! but anyways I love and miss you all tons and tons!  Have a great week.  Be safe! mwah!

**Peru thing: So here car accidents aren't a huge deal.  Yesterday a bus took out the back of this lady's car and they got out and the bus driver took out a handful of cash and they both left haha it was crazy!!  Apparently the cops are more expensive to pay than to just pay them for the wreck.

this is the stuff we learned to make from the guy from our service it is super cool he gave me the silver bike.

this scorpion was in the sink the other day but it was just little so no worries unless you've seen Indiana Jones haha.  I check my shoes and bed a lot now.

Water fights and Cactus fruit

Hey Fam!

So this week was a bit long but yeah I still like this area.  The hills are killer but worth it.

So Monday was fun we as a zone had a giant water balloon fight so that was awesome!  Then we had to say bye to Hermana Lawerence so that was so sad!

Tuesday this week I had a training meeting with all the other district leaders and it was super good.  I kinda have an idea of what to do now.  After we had a interchange so I went with Elder Sosa.  He is my favorite.  We talked a ton and it was great!  Later in the night my companion got in trouble for driving a moto ( I don't know what that is but I google translated it and I think it is a motorcycle) so Elder Sosa and Marin had to go have a meeting with him.  That wasn't so fun... After we ordered Pizza Hut and talked about books and movies and girlfriends so it ended good.

Wednesday was my interviews with Pres. McGinn.  It was good but I forgot I needed questions so that was awkward.  After I had another interchange with Elder Halliday.  He is brand new but we had fun and it was a crazy day because we had emergency transfers in our district.  We got 3 new Hermanas.  One is brand new.  The other has almost a year.  That night we taught my English class.  It was pretty fun.  More people came and they were all really excited to learn.

Thursday was my district meeting.  It went so good!  I found a ton of different shirts, hats, ties and other stuff and they played dress up and practiced talking to people in the streets.  It was super fun and after we went to the mall to practice with real people it was awesome!

Friday not too much happened.  It was a plan day so really boring but then on Saturday we did service for our neighbor and we cleaned her "garden" and planted trees and flowers that will probably die soon but oh well.  So this week I learned not to pick up new fruit.  The fruit is called Puna ( I think cactus fruit) but it has tiny spines that have barbs and no one told me til I picked them up!  Ouch!  Now I know.

Peru thing:  The people are super proud of Peru and think everything in only in Peru so when I say Pizza, McDonalds, Papa John's or Ritz crackers remind me of home they get mad and tell me those things aren't from the U.S. It is super fun to do!

Well I love ya'll.  Be safe.  mwah!

New Years

Hey Guys!

Happy New Years everyone!!  So my first week here went alright.  My comp and the last missionary here were super lazy and so the work is hard.  He still is kinda in that mindset so it is a bit hard but still super good.  This week was mostly just trying to figure out the district leader stuff it didn't go super great haha!  I messed up the numbers the other night but we figured it out.  So yeah.  Then I had to teach and I thought it sucked but the APs came and told me it was so good and they needed that lesson so that felt good!  My Spanish has gotten way better too!

Not a ton happened this week but New Years was fun but like always sad to be gone.  Yesterday we got up and I had to run out to Elder Hirst's area cause they lost some papers but after that we stopped at the mall to go to the ATM and guess what was next to it?  Dunkin Donuts!  Of course I went in haha.  There are probably photos on Facebook cause I ate like 5 donuts!  I had a whole box haha.  After that we went to lunch and we decided that we wanted to go see our investigator Miguel.  He is 82 and super crazy and funny.  He can't remember anything so we make posters for him but mine had a conjugation wrong and he wouldn't let it go.  It was so funny.  Then he refuses to pray for more life and he can't remember our names so he calls us Hermanos Guapos.  haha!  Yesterday we decided to go buy chicken and Inca Kola and spend some time with him it was so awesome!  We ate and talked.  It was funny he thinks I am Peruvian and that when I speak English it is Quechua haha.  After that we went home and we colored and did oragami and messed around singing and laughing til midnight.  Then there were more fire works then I've ever seen!  It was awesome!  We threw glow sticks and candy to the people in the streets it was super fun.  Now I am so tired and church is at 2 so that is awful.

I love and miss you all tons!  Have a great week and be safe!

Ty

Peru thing:  so it is lucky to wear red and yellow on New Years so in the streets people sell yellow underwear like millions of pairs!  It is nuts!  We decided hats were a better option.
